Norman was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Henry was the son of German parents, Heinrich Wilhelm Gerdelmann and Eleonore Dorothee Adelheid Campe, who was from Bremen. Mary was born in Pennsylvania, the daughter of Hermann Flender/Flenders, who was a German emigrant, Driesbach, and of Anna Mary Magdelin/Magdalena Galich/Gallich, who was also of German descent.

Frankie’s paternal grandmother was named June Pivaroff (the daughter of James Pivaroff and Jennie). June was born in California, and was of Russian descent, likely Molokan.

      Frankie’s paternal grandfather’s father was Henry/Harry William Gerdelman (the son of Heinrich Wilhelm Gerdelmann and Eleonore Dorothee Adelheid Campe). Henry’s parents were German.
      Frankie’s great-great grandmother Anna Mary Magdelin Galich was also of German ancestry.

      Frankie’s paternal grandmother was named June Pivaroff (the daughter of James Pivaroff and Jennie). ‘Homatoff’ was Jennie’s re-married surname.
