His father is a historian, preserving the Historic Allaire Village, in Wall Township, Monmouth County, New Jersey. Eric has two children with his former wife, interior designer Ivy Sherman.
Eric’s maternal grandfather was Chester Stanislaus “Chet” Dziczek (the son of Stanislaus “Stanley” Dziczek and Władysława “Gladys” Lemańska). Chester was born in Massachusetts, to Polish parents. Stanislaus was the son of Józef Dziczek and Rozalia “Rose” Mroz. Władysława was born in Zbójna, Powiat łomżyński, Podlaskie, the daughter of Mikołaj Lemański and Katarzyna Gawrych.
Eric’s maternal grandmother was Ladwiga/Appoline “Agnes” Lemanski (the daughter of Jan/John Kazimierz Lemanski and Teofila Kaminski). Ladwiga was born in Massachusetts, to Polish parents. Jan was born in Zbójna, Powiat łomżyński, Podlaskie, the son of Paweł Lemański and Łucja Misierewicz/Mysierewicz.
