Curious about ethnicity

She’s ethnically English, though she looks more Mediterranean then Anglo-Saxon. This is just part of the normal variation of Anglo phenotype (Sean Connery and Colin Farrell being two other prominent examples). Seems to be somewhat more common among the Welsh for some reason, and in particular these with the surname “Jones”.

With her pale complexion with brown eyes and hair, if I didn’t know she was ethnically British I might guess Ashkenazi.

People don’t always look like the ethnic group they belong to.

many anthropoligists say in British and Irish people there is a Mediterranen component, different from Med of South Europe but still Med. Britain has a long history before Anglo-Saxon arrival. Actually a guy like Farrell is absolutely average, only a fool can think the Irish are a bunch or redheads

That’s not all. There’s no evidence that Anglo-Saxons were light-pigmented in comparison with native Britons, so considering that modern Scandinavian- German population have strong Meditteranean component like Ann-Kristin Flatland or Moritz Bleitbreu it is absolutely no wonder that Mediterranean anthro.types are well represented in all Europe. but they differ surely from another Meds. Atlantic Mediterranean complex strethes along Atlantic coast from some groups of Morrocan-Algerian Berbers (which without Arabic-Semitic influence) to Scandinavia

      • Alice says:

Colin Farrell is definitely not average for Irish Andrew and most Irish aren’t redheads either. The majority of Irish are most likely to be blue eyed, fair skinned and hair that is light brown to medium brown that would be the average colouring but you can find every combination in Ireland from brunets to blonds. Colin is definitely darker than the average for a Irishman.

        • Alice says:

Genetics of people if fairly well known now and there is no Moroccan-Algerian Berber ancestry in the British Isles. It sounds exotic but it is non-existant in those populations.

Genetic results for populations are easily obtained on the internet so no mysteries there.

          • Marc 2 says:

How Berber genetic ancestry can be extended in British Isles??? :)

i’m talking about anthropological type. Some groups of Berbers demonstrate Mauretanian influence (Negroid), some of them. Arabic (Middle Estern), but another isolated groups, in Atlas mountains, in their North-Western parts retain appearns which very closed to Europeoid. It doesn’t have to do with genetic. It is very ancient phenomenon

          • Marc 2 says:

By the way, a little about genetic: There’s some interference between North-Western Africa and Europe. in total. European R1b, I2, G. Caucasian-Minor Asian J2 and African E1b reflects some correlation between ancient Berbers and Europeans.

Also, ancient Egyptian depiction of XIII century BC, there’s a picture of Egyptian, Assyrian, Ethiopian and Lybian persons, the latter has got the lightest pigmentation of them.
And don’t forget about the Guanches which described as tow haired.

            @ marc 2

I read they’ve found little Berber genetic imput in Scotland. Ann-Kristin Flatland isnt Med, she could fit in Central Europe, Moritz Bleibtreu maybe, he’s of Austrian descent and he could fit into Italy too IMO (close nations, no big deal)

        • andrew says:

Farrell is a movie star, I presume he doesnt live in Ireland but in California or places like that thats why he’s more tanned than the average Irishman. He has brown hair/eyes as Ryan Reynolds (random example) who’s of Irish descent too, someone wrote here there’s a resemblance between them.

            Ann-Kristin Flatland isnt Med, ,@

With dark brown hair, brown eyes and level of skin pigmentation which impossible in context of real nordic types?! Yes, of course she is of Mediterranean family. Almost exemplary atlanto-med.

@she could fit in Central Europe@

Anyone europeoid from Volga river to France could fit in Central Europe, cause it is the most mixed region in Continent :)

@Moritz Bleibtreu maybe, he’s of Austrian descent and he could fit into Italy too IMO (close nations, no big deal)@

However, Germanic origin. But so far from Aryan model :)

          • Alice says:

Most Irish can’t take a tan like Colin. That’s why Ireland has one of the highest rates of skin cancer in Europe and why countries like Australia have one of the highest rates in the world due to a lot of people of Irish and British descent. Freckled skin is the most common type of skin in Ireland. As I said most Irish don’t look like Colin Farrell not to say that some Irish don’t tan but that is a minority.

            @ Marc 2

she is not Med at all, who cares about the hair/eye colour, it’s not so relevant. I meant she could fit into Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italian Alps.
“Aryan model”?? man we are in 2013 do u still think to this bullshit? come on..

Sorry, we talkin about about anthropological complex now or place of birth?
Physical appearance, that’s what makes Med and distinguishes them from all other

@I meant she could fit into Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italian Alps.@

Everyone could fit there, it’s not an indicator
@“Aryan model”?? man we are in 2013 do u still think to this bullshit? come on..@

I know that this is a bullshit, just like the opinion that Germanic nations is the homeland of all of the European nordoids

      • jackson9 says:

What does this comment mean? She has no recent Jewish ancestry and yes she is capable of converting to Judaism in Britain, France, U.S. etc.

    • whatevah says:

Um, have you heard of the Roman conquest and the 410 years the Romans have ruled over the British Isles? Obviously not!

      • FoxHamar says:

These features (i.e. Mediterranean features) entered Britain during the Neolithic. It has nothing to do with Romans. Leave pop-anthropology at the door and do some research. Uninformed pontifications on race and ancestry are ALWAYS wrong in my experience. Just read roman2886’s comments on everything for a perfect example.

    • roman2886 says:

I said that myself she defiantly looks Italian she doesn’t look German at all ethnic Germans look nothing like her the Northern Germans are true Germans the ethnic Germans they look very German even Nordic Northern Germany is very close to Denmark.
