Edward Berger is a German-born director and screenwriter. He has directed the films Jack (2014), All My Loving, All Quiet on the Western Front (2022), which won the Academy Award for Best International Feature Film; and Conclave (2024). He also wrote the second film, and co-wrote the first and third. He also directed the mini-series Patrick Melrose, and episodes of the series KDD – Kriminaldauerdienst, which he also wrote for; Deutschland 83, The Terror, and Your Honor.

His father appears to have been Austrian. His mother was from Switzerland. He is a citizen of Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
