Drew Pinsky, also known as Dr. Drew, is an American celebrity doctor, internist, addiction medicine specialist, media personality, and podcaster. He was the host of the radio show Loveline, from 1984 to 2016; of the television shows Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew, from 2008 to 2012, Celebrity Rehab Presents Sober House, from 2009 to 2010, Sex Rehab with Dr. Drew, in 2009, Dr. Drew On Call, from 2011 to 2016, and Lifechangers, from 2011 to 2012; and of podcasts including Dr. Drew After Dark, from 2019 to 2023.
He is the son of singer and actress Helene Stanton (born Eleanor Mae Stansbury) and Morton Pinsky, a physician. His father was from a Jewish family. His mother was of English, German, Scottish, and remote Welsh, descent. Drew was raised Jewish. Drew is married to Susan Sailer, with whom he has three children, who are triplets.
Drew’s paternal grandfather was David Pinsky (the son of Mark “Meer” Pinsky and Genia “Gitl” Feldman). David was Ukrainian Jewish emigrant, from Chepovichi. Genia was the daughter of Olya-Boruch Feldman.
