DJ Drama is an American disc jockey, record executive, and music promoter. He was being T.I’s official DJ. He co-founded Atlanta-based hip hop collective the Aphilliates, and Atlantic Records imprint Generation Now.

He was born to Dina Portnoy, an English teacher, and Michael Simmons. His father is African-American and his mother is of Russian Jewish descent. He was raised mostly in Germantown, Philadelphia.
