David Giuntoli is an American actor. He has starred in the series Grimm, as Detective Nick Burkhardt, and A Million Little Things.

David’s father is of Italian descent. David’s maternal grandfather was Polish. David’s maternal grandmother’s family were from Bohemia/Austria, and were of ethnic German descent. The surname Giuntoli is from Tuscany. David is married to actress Elizabeth Tulloch, with whom he has a daughter.

David’s paternal grandfather was William Dominic Giuntoli (the son of Alessandro Sabatino “Louis” Giuntoli and Antonia “Tonina/Gabani” Niccolai). William was born in Illinois, to Italian parents, from Ponte Buggianese, Province of Pistoia, Tuscany. Alessandro was the son of Domenico Giuntoli and Setima Santini. Antonia was the daughter of Angiolo Niccolai and Anna Pellegrini.

David’s paternal grandmother was Elena Bruna Giuntoli (the daughter of Emilio Giuntoli and Cesira Pagni). Bruna was born in Ponte Buggianese, Province of Pistoia, Tuscany, Italy. Emilio was the son of Domenico Giuntoli and Setima Santini. It appears that David’s grandparents were cousins.

David’s maternal grandfather was Alvin John Czarra (the son of Walter Czarra and Antonia Czyzewska). Alvin was Polish. Walter was the son of Martin Czarra. Antonia was the daughter of Apolonja.

David’s maternal grandmother was Frances Marian Eckert (the daughter of Josef/Joseph Eckert and Franziska/Frances Reitmeier). David’s grandmother Frances was born in Wisconsin, to parents from Bohemia/Austria. Josef was the son of Johann Eckert and Margareta. Franziska was the daughter of Karl Reitmeyer and Theresie Bohmann; Theresie was the daughter of Anton Bohmann and Katharina Förster.

    To take the risk to repeat others: When he is completely of Italian descent, it’s definitely Northern Italy (Celts, Germanics). He’s by far not the Mediterranean phenotype.
