She has two children with her partner, filmmaker, actor, and author Kyle Newman.

Cyn’s paternal grandfather was Walter Valentine Nabozny, Sr. (the son of Wladyslaw “Walter” Nabozny and Josephine Opalinski). Wladyslaw and Josephine were born in Michigan, both of them to Polish parents. Wladyslaw was the son of John Nabozny, from Budy, Rzeszes, and of Catherine Djediec. Josephine was the daughter of Teofil Opalinski and Katherine Nawrot.

Cyn’s paternal grandmother was Donna Rae Scearer (the daughter of Harry John Shearer and Iola Mae Wilson). Donna was born in Los Angeles, California, and had some deep roots in the U.S. Harry was the son of Jasper William Shearer and Margaret May Salisbury. Iola was the daughter of George William Wilson, whose paternal grandparents were Scottish, and whose maternal grandparents were English; and of Elsie May Stubbee, who was of German descent.

Cyn’s maternal grandfather is Lawrence Edward Prover (the son of Sgt. Richard Edward Prover and Minnie Mary Winkler). Lawrence was born in Ohio. Richard was the son of William Prover, whose paternal grandparents were French, and whose maternal grandfather was English; and of Gertrude May Benedict, who was of half Irish descent. Minnie was the daughter of Karl John Winkler and Minnie Leslein, and was of German descent.

Cyn’s maternal grandmother was Marlene Carol Krajewski (the daughter of Henry Frank Krajewski and Marie Theresa/Thresa Aksamit). Marlene was born in Michigan, and all of her grandparents were Polish immigrants. Henry was the son of John Krajewski and Kunegunda “Helen” Cholewa, who was from Siercza. Marie was the daughter of Stanislaw “Stanley” Aksamit, who was from Tarnów, and of Zofia “Sophie” Bronislava Serus, from Dabrowa.
