Cory Booker
Birth Name: Cory Anthony Booker
Place of Birth: Washington, D.C., U.S.
Date of Birth: April 27, 1969
Ethnicity: African-American, some English, small amount of Native American, distant German and Irish
Cory Booker is an American politician, attorney, and author. A member of the Democratic Party, he has served as a U.S. Senator from New Jersey, since October 31, 2013. He was previously Mayor of Newark, NJ, from July 1, 2006 to October 31, 2013.
He was a candidate for the Democratic Party’s nomination for President of the United States in 2020.
Cory is the son of Carolyn Rose (Jordan) and Cary Alfred Booker, who were executives at IMB. Cory’s parents are/were both black, as were all of his grandparents. One of Cory’s maternal great-grandfathers, Stephen Henry Brown, was white. Cory was raised in Harrington Park, New Jersey.
In his book, United: Thoughts on Finding Common Ground and Advancing the Common Good, 2017, page 12, Corey wrote:
I am descended from slaves and slave owners. I have Native American blood and am also the great-great-great grandson of a white man who fought in the Creek War of 1836, in which Native Americans were forcibly removed from their land. I am the great-great-grandson of many slaves, and I am also the great-great-grandson of a corporal who fought in the Confederate Army and was captured by Union troops.
Cory’s paternal grandfather was Wathia Clarence “W. C.” Allen (the son of Charlie A. Allen and Elizabeth Leonard). Wathia was born in North Carolina.
Cory’s paternal grandmother was Jessie/Jesse Lucille Booker (the daughter of Franklin “Frank” Booker and Mary Willie). Jesse was born in Kentucky or Tennessee. Franklin was the son of Harrison Booker. Mary was the daughter of Albert Christopher.
Cory’s maternal grandfather was Limuary Alja Jordan (the biological son of Stephen Henry Brown and Alzinia/Alzenia Collins). Limuary was born in Louisiana. Stephen was the son of Fielding Brown and Eliza Jane Hair. Alzinia was the daughter of Winsor G. Collins and Mary Belle Smith.
Cory’s maternal grandmother was named Adeline Nadine Wilson (the daughter of Joseph N./M. Wilson and Rosa E.). Adeline was born in Iowa. Joseph was the son of Byrd Wilson, Jr. and Roberta Scott.
A DNA test whose results were displayed on the show Finding Your Roots with Henry Louis Gates, Jr. (2012) stated that Cory’s genetic ancestry is:
*47% African
*45% European
*7% Native American
Part of his African DNA matches Sierra Leonean ancestry.
Genetically, he was found to have a common ancestor with drag queen, actor, model, and television personality RuPaul.

It is stated in this article below that Cory booker is Native American:

I’m still waiting for any documentation to back up Cory Booker’s Native American DNA claims, esp the Melungeon claims in Virginia close to where the Cherokee, Delaware/Leni-Lenape and Shawnee peoples lived (Cherokees rarely lived in KY and VA, only areas close to TN and NC where they originated in the 1680s-1710s) – it would be useful to contribute that in his article, esp what tribe he descends from.
No. I’m also not adding Italian/Greek to Jessica Biel, Spanish to Nick Carter, or “European” to every African-American who tests 18% European, which is all of them. This is old news. But people get bored quickly.
Johnny Depp has no DNA test and his last traceable ancestor named Sizemore was apparently born in England.
But the reason for adding Elizabeth Warren’s to her profile is a strange inconsistency. If Cory Booker had once said “I think there is a Native American somewhere in my family tree” or any person who said that and a DNA test said 0%-1% Native American then it should be added?
@follers
Do you have an idiosyncrasy towards Native American people?
Leaving aside Depp for a while, how did you establish that J.Lo has Taino ancestry? On which basis?
and why is Gina Rodriguez Taino but not the other ethnicities according to that tweet she responded to?
The European average for most African-Americans is 25%, not 18%.
This is not true. Most studies done over the years have generally found a range between 10% to 20%.
It is true, though.

But it’s not, though. You can keep cherry-picking old studies. The perponderance of studies shows between 10-20%; a 25% average would be exceptional.
The study is not even a decade old. If you have a better one, let’s see it.
So since he has not claimed Native American ancestry so far it’s not worthy to be added, but 7% (if the test is right) is not a negligible amount.
According to this logic Johhny Depp should be listed as Native American then, considering his various claims all over the years and the fact he descends to Sizemore clan who has been tested as having Amerindian DNA.
Exactly, and Warren hasn’t been confirmed. anything under 1% could be just noise. 7% is enough for a legit test to not get out of the range of error.
Yeah, 7% is not noise. A claim shouldn’t be necessary at that amount.
-> Ethnicity: African-American, some English, distant German, Irish, AND Native American. Right??
Common sense.
yes of course it’s common sense to say Cory Booker’s 7% is much more significant than Warren’s less than 1% in which we couldn’t even see the percentage reports. ancestry DNA knows that less than 1% of any ethnicity is noise.
Agree.
He may be Melungeon.
