Cindy Sheehan is an American anti-war activist. Her son, U.S. Army Specialist Casey Sheehan, born May 29, 1979, was killed by enemy action during the Iraq War, on April 4, 2004. She led an extended anti-war protest outside President George W. Bush’s ranch in Texas. She wrote the memoir Peace Mom: A Mother’s Journey Through Heartache to Activism, and has run for office.
She was the Peace and Freedom Party’s nominee for Vice President of the United States in 2012.
Her father worked for the Lockheed Corporation. Cindy was a youth minister at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Vacaville, California. She has had four children, including Casey, with her husband, sales representative Patrick Sheehan.
Cindy’s paternal grandfather was Walter Miller (the son of William Efferson Miller and Etta/Ettie Ann Baldridge). William was the son of John Caswell Miller. Etta was the daughter of Charles Wesley Baldridge and Rhoda Ann Frances Rainbolt.
Cindy’s paternal grandmother was Jenny McNair (the daughter of William Asbury McNair and Rhoda Ann Frances Rainbolt). William was the son of James Claiborne McNair and Harriett Almeda Manes. Rhoda was the daughter of George Douglas Rainbolt and Martha Ann Cash.
Cindy’s maternal grandfather was Harold Austin Hullen/Hulen (the son of Lacy/Lacey Toalson Hullen/Hulen and Annie Laura Sims). Harold was born in Missouri. Lacy was the son of Henry Clay Hullen/Hulen and Sarah Margaret “Sallie” Toalson. Annie was the daughter of Thomas Anderson Sims and Adella Rosemond “Ada” Keithley.
Cindy’s maternal grandmother was Mabel Chlotile Stark (the daughter of Harvey Lemon Stark and Mae Pearl Cartwright). Mabel was born in Massachusetts or Illinois. Harvey was the son of Orlando Melville Stark and Harriet/Hattie R. Davis. Mae was the daughter of John Robert Cartwright and Julia A. Welch/Welsh.
