Chad Hurley is an American webmaster and businessperson. He co-founded online video sharing platform YouTube, with Steve Chen and Jawed Karim. He also co-founded video sharing service MixBit, also with Chen. He was CEO of YouTube, from February 14, 2005 to October 29, 2010, and now serves as an advisor for the site.

Chad is the son of Joann and Donald Hurley. He is married to Elise Walden.

Chad’s paternal grandfather was Charles Donald Hurley (the son of Charles Edward “Charlie” Hurley and Mary C. Shatley). Chad’s grandfather Charles was born in North Carolina. Chad’s great-grandfather Charles was the son of Elisa Howard Hurley and Alpha Jane Barker. Mary was the daughter of Riley Shatley and America Haviner Massey.

Chad’s paternal grandmother was Jean Emily Wolfe (the daughter of Meredith Linwood Wolfe and Dorothy E. Friedhofer). Meredith was the son of William Albert Wolfe and Mary Emily Rebecca Harrison.
