Candice Patton
Birth Name: Candice Kristina Patton
Place of Birth: Jackson, Mississippi, U.S.
Date of Birth: June 24, 1988
Ethnicity: African-American
Candice Patton is an American actress. She is known for her role as Iris West in the series The Flash.
Candice is the daughter of Patricia Jones and Ronald Patton. Her parents are both black. A picture of Candice and her mother can be seen here. Candice has a son with her former partner, professional basketball player J. R. Smith.
In an interview, Candice dispelled rumors that she is of partly Asian descent.
Candice’s maternal grandmother likely is Evelyn Jones (the daughter of Elverse Jones and Clotee Jackson). Evelyn is African-American.
Shaun’s mom tried to get away with the “light-skinned black man” tale.
Aunt’s obituary:
”CORDOVA, Tenn. – Katherine Kennedy, 41, a homemaker, died of complications from surgery Thursday in Baptist East Hospital in Memphis. Services are 2:30 p.m. Sunday at China Grove Methodist Church in Madison with burial in Taylor Hill Cemetery in Madison. Memorial Park Funeral Home in Memphis is handling arrangements.
Survivors include: husband, Harold; sons, Johnathan L. Kennedy and Andre Grisham, both of Cordova; mother, Evelyn Jones of Madison; sisters, Patricia Patton of Dallas, Deborah McDonald of Jackson and Eloise Jones of Madison; brothers, E.J. Porter, Robert Jones, Michael Jones and Tommy Jones, all of Madison, Mack Henry Porter of Jackson and Versell Jones of Detroit; and grandmother, Clottee Jones of Madison.”
I’ll try to make sense of it later.
Looks like Clottee from the obituary is Clotee Jackson, wife of Elverse Jones, and that Evelyn is their daughter.
How old is a person that’s in college in 2003-04?
Her parents are Ronald Patton and Patricia Jones.
That’s all I could find.
I don’t think that woman is white in That picture of her mother
you’re probably right.
Maybe we should just put ”Not Asian” for her mother :D
I think she may very well be white. Her skin tone is quite pale for an African-American (although it can vary, which I know you’ll tell me).
you’re right , I will. I have plenty members of my family like that. I always say my aunts look like a bunch of old white women. I didn’t say Candice mother wasn’t mixed, just not full white
@Fuzzybear, I do too. My black uncle is very pale with pink undertones and he is black. I should know. He is the same skin tone as the woman in the pic. However everything else about him is typically black. There is a Nigerian actress Mknalisa Chinda just as pale and thats her real skin tone.
@midori29
That’s because people forget skin coloration is just like any other trait, it can get past down. That why when one parent is brown, and the other is high yellow, the child comes out looking just the high yellow one. Or that same couple, could five kids, and you’ll have different color kids
@midori69
If your uncle is “very pale” with even “pink” undertones, his person of color status is highly questioned by this description.
No there are white looking Black people. Black people come in ALL shades.
Are there black looking people white people too? Controversial topic.
isn’t Sandra Laing is said to be one
Keith Jarrett too.
and Anthony Ekundayo Lennon. He has white Irish parents but looks mixed race. He changed his middle name from David to Ekundayo.

“White Irish” my a#s.
You can’t look like that unless some of your ancestors have slept with someone having West African ancestry.
@andrew they look white:

He mentioned all his grandparents were white too: https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/anthony-lennon-my-genes-are-white-but-im-black-v7tmnw7xw
32% african seems like a lot to be (possibly) only 1/8th black (if one of his great grandparents was black.)
but I think it’s more likely that his mother has some explaining to do… same goes for Sandra Laing.
Maybe someone should research this guy to verify it? (I can’t be arsed.)

@comrade
There’s not much to explain. His mother did the nasty with the Jamaican milkman and then played dumb. He’s like the opposite of Shaun King, meaning his father is actually black, but he’s in denial about it, while Shaun’s father is white, but he made up a black lover for his mother.
@Andrew I definitely know my uncle is black. Its so funny when non black people try to tell actual black people who is black lol and how we should look. There are so many factors affecting the skin tones of black people whithout having a white parent. Skin tone can reoccur from 100 years ago. One can be a light skinned black person. Yes. 1. Partial albinism , occular albimism not full causes skin changes 2. Environment 3. Diet. And just black people in general come in different ski. Tones. The black label doesnt mean we are all the color of black. Its just a label.
@midori
I perfectly know how Black people look, because I live in Europe and you don’t (but you had such experience in Paris as you told me and you were shocked to see the “blackest people on Earth”). Anyway Sub-Sarahan African people are black skinned and there is no doubt about that. Nigerians can be lighter than that but not anywhere close as that bad role model of an actress you keep posting
Light skin= European admixture
You are not black.
The mother looks Russian or from Kyrgzstan. Patton could be adopted though..
Most likely not adopted. Her mother me.just looks a like skin black woman or mixed (not to offend others here). Candice just took more after her black heritage. I mean I could be wrong, but I don’t think so.
Her mother is African-American. Maybe she has some other ancestry, but she’s definitely African-American.
Her mom definitely isn’t black just look at the woman’s instagram. Her mom is non black
I didn’t say she was black, I said she’s African-American, and she is. As I said in my other comment, Candice’s maternal grandmother is very likely Evelyn Jones (daughter of Elverse Jones and Clotee Jackson), all three African-American. Who her grandfather is, I have no idea.
are there other pics of her on social media? I found none.
@multiethnic chick There are pale black people. Trust me I have them in my family. Admixed from like 100 years ago. Theyre black now. And some partial albinos or just born light skinned.
Look at the Nigerian actress Monalisa Chinda 100 percent West African.
