Andrus Ansip is an Estonian politician. He has served as Prime Minister of Estonia, from 12 April, 2005 to 26 March, 2014, as well as, as Minister of Economic Affairs and Communications, from 23 September, 2004 to 12 April, 2005, Mayor of Tartu, from 10 September, 1998 to 23 September, 2004, and European Commissioner for Digital Single Market, from 1 November, 2014 to 1 July, 2019.

He is the son of Alma (Luik) and Gunnar Ansip. He is married to Anu Reial, with whom he has one child.

Andrus’ patrilineal ancestry can be traced back to his seventh great-grandfather, Everti Hans.

Andrus’ paternal grandfather was Arnold Voldemar Ansip (the son of Kaarel Ansip and Sophie Elisabeth Korjus). Arnold was born in Jõgeva, Elistvere mp, Estonia. Kaarel was the son of Jüri Ansip and Mari Tubin. Sophie was the daughter of Ado Korjus and Leenu Kurs.

Andrus’ paternal grandmother was Adele Koppel (the daughter of Kaarel Koppel and Sofie Marie Saare). Adele was born in Elistvere. Kaarel was the daughter of Mihkel Koppel and Kadri Liiv. Sofie was the daughter of Jaan Saare and Juula Kruusa.

Andrus’ maternal grandfather was August Julius Luik (the son of Jüri Luik and Liisu/Liiso Kraft). August was born in Kärkna, Äksi kihelkond, Tartumaa. Jüri was the son of Jaan Luik and Mari. Liisu was the daughter of Jaan Kraft and Anno/Anu/Ano Lomp.

Andrus’ maternal grandmother was Liisa Prost (the daughter of Peeter Prost and Leena Treier). Liisa was born in Tähtvere, Tartumaa. Peeter was the son of Märt Prost and Ann Leetsi. Leena was the daughter of Jaan Treier and Liisu.
