Al Barr is an American musician. He is the lead singer of the Celtic punk group Dropkick Murphys. Al’s mother was German.

Al is married to Jessica, with whom he has one child.

Al’s paternal grandfather was Lockwood Chappell Barr (the son of Lockwood Anderson Barr and Bernice Florence Owens). Al’s grandfather Lockwood was born in New York. Al’s great-grandfather Lockwood was managing editor of The Wall Street Journal from 1913 to 1916. He was the son of Edward Tipton Barr and Mary Anderson. Bernice was the daughter of William Thomas Owens and Florence Chappell.

Al’s paternal grandmother was Jane Shaw Churchill (the daughter of Lawrence Whitfield Churchill and Ethel Lurana Shaw). Jane was born in Massachusetts. Lawrence was the son of Arthur Whitfield Churchill and Laura Gertrude Clark.

Al is the fifth cousin, once removed, of Diana, Princess of Wales, through their common descent from physician Joseph Strong.
