Marg Helgenberger is an American actress. She is known for her role as Catherine Willows on the series CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.

She is the daughter of Mary Kay, a nurse, and Hugh Helgenberger, a meat inspector. Her father had German and Irish ancestry, and her mother had German ancestry. Marg was raised in North Bend, Nebraska. She is married to actor and stunt performer Charlie Haugk. Marg has a son with her former husband, actor and SAG President, Alan Rosenberg.

Marg’s paternal grandfather was Leroy R./August Helgenberger (the son of William Ferdinand August Helgenberger and Martha Baumann). Leroy was born in Scribner, Nebraska, and all of his grandparents were German immigrants. William was the son of Ferdinand August Helgenberger and Auguste Anna Ernestine Dames, who were from Brandenburg.
