Albert II, Prince of Monaco, is the reigning monarch of the Principality of Monaco. He has been Prince Regent of Monaco, from 31 March, 2005 to 6 April, 2005, and Prince of Monaco, since 6 April, 2005.
He is the son of Rainier III, Prince of Monaco, and American actress Grace Kelly. His siblings are Caroline, Princess of Hanover and Princess Stéphanie of Monaco. His uncle, John B. Kelly, Jr., was an Olympic rower, as was his maternal grandfather, John Brendan “Jack” Kelly, who had won three Olympic gold medals. Albert II is married to Charlene, Princess of Monaco (born Charlene Lynette Wittstock). He has four children, Jazmin Grace Grimaldi, and Alexandre Grimaldi-Coste, from previous relationships; and two, Princess Gabriella, Countess of Carladès and Jacques, Hereditary Prince of Monaco, with Charlene.

Anyhow the indigenous Monegasque are Italian, their dialect is Ligurian.
