She is the daughter of Elizabeth Egbert and Carl Michaelson. Her father was a composer, and copyright manager for publishing company Carl Fischer Music. Her mother was a sculptor. Ingrid was raised on Staten Island. Her mother was born in Charleston, West Virginia, and the Egbertville neighborhood was named after her family.

Ingrid’s paternal grandfather was Ove Gustaf Adolf Michaelson (the son of Karl Otto Mikaelsson and Johanna “Hanna”/Mathilda Landberg/Hoff). Ove was born in Karlstad, Sweden. Karl was the son of Ole Karlson Mikkelsen/Michaëlson and Johanna Ulrika Nymark. Ingrid’s great-grandmother Johanna was the daughter of Johan Otto Hoff and Johanna Elisabet Landberg.

Ingrid’s paternal grandmother was Ellen Ingeborg Möller/Miller (the daughter of Fredrik Moller and Karin Elisabet Öfverbeck). Fredrik was born in Helsingborg, Sweden. Karin was born in Agunnaryd, Sweden.

Ingrid’s maternal grandfather was named Robert Egbert.

Ingrid’s maternal grandmother was named Emma Bell Cook.
