His mother is from a Romanian Jewish family, from Bucharest. Ami was raised in Israel, and moved to the U.S. when he was around eleven. He later served in the Israel Defense Forces/IDF. One of his hobbies is freestyle fighting. He has two children.
Ami’s father is said to have been an American, who converted to Judaism. It is not clear if this is accurate.
