Leah Kate is an American singer. She is known for her song “10 Things I Hate About You.”

Leah’s paternal grandfather was Howard Kalmenson (the son of Benjamin Kalmenson and Norma Goldman). Benjamin was a Jewish emigrant, from Vilnius, Lithuania. Norma was born in Maryland, to Jewish parents from Poland and Russia.

Leah’s paternal grandmother was Lilli Brunner (the daughter of Friedrich Heinrich Brunner and Edith Glass). Lilli was from a German Jewish family. Friedrich was born in Landau in der Pfalz, Germany, the son of Albert Brunner and Bertha Rheinstein. Edith was born in Marten, now Dortmund, Germany.

Leah’s maternal grandfather was Joseph Normandeau (the son of Philéas Normandeau and Louisa Jodoin). Joseph was born in Québec, to a mostly French-Canadian family, with distant German, Irish, English, and First Nations/Huron descent.

Leah’s maternal grandmother was Thelma Dorothy Seay (the daughter of William Kelly Seay and Georgia Ellen Goodman). Thelma was of mostly British Isles descent, with some German and Danish.
