Brandi Carlile is an American singer and songwriter. She is the daughter of Teresa Carlile. She is married to Catherine Shepherd, with whom she has two children.

Brandi’s maternal grandfather was Jarry Roy Carlile (the son of Arthur Earnest Carlile and Marie Jane Farris). Arthur was the son of General Sultan Carlile and Josephine Isabelle Sparks. Marie was the daughter of Roy Clifford Farris and Alta Keturah Vance.

Brandi’s maternal grandmother was Carol Jean Hupfer (the daughter of Harold Preston Hupfer and Clara Jean Ashton). Harold was the son of Herman Hupfer, whose parents were German, and of Tenna E. Force, whose parents were Canadian. Clara was the daughter of William Robert Ashton, whose paternal grandparents, and mother, were Northern Irish, and of Minnie Almira Taylor.
