Bodie Olmos is an American television and film actor.

Bodie is the son of Kaija and actor Edward James Olmos.

Bodie’s father is of Mexican ancestry. Bodie’s mother is of one half Swedish, one quarter German, and English descent, along with some Swiss-French roots.

Bodie’s paternal grandfather was Pedro Olmos y Escamilla (the son of Jose Gabriel Lucio Olmos y Bringas and Ana Escamilla Medina). Pedro was a Mexican emigrant, who was born in Distrito Federal. Jose Gabriel was born in Tacubaya, Distrito Federal, México, the son of Tiburcio Velazquez y Olmos and Soledad Bringas. Ana was the daughter of Julio Escamilla and Ana Medina.

Bodie’s paternal grandmother was Eleonor Huizar Flores Magán (the daughter of Alfredo Fernando Huizar Franco and Esperanza Flores Magán/Magon). Eleonor was born in California. Alfredo was born in Texas, to parents from Zacatecas, Mexico, Augustine/Augustin/Agustin Munos Huizar and Maria/Mary Bermudez Franco. Esperanza was also of Mexican origin.

Bodie’s maternal grandfather was actor and singer Howard Keel, who was born Harry Clifford Keel (the son of Charles Homer Keel and Grace/Gracey M. Osterkamp). Howard was born in Illinois. Charles was the son of William Carter Keel and Sarah E. Duncan. Grace was the daughter of Frederick “Fred” Osterkamp, who was German, and of Tilley/Tillie Miller, who was born in Illinois, to parents from Germany.

Bodie’s maternal grandmother was Helen Elizabeth Anderson (the daughter of Adolf Anderson and Esther Lundberg). Helen was born in New Jersey, to Swedish parents.

Bodie’s father has stated that his family’s surname was originally Olmosh, and that he has Hungarian Jewish ancestry from the surname. This does not appear to be accurate. Bodie’s patrilineal ancestors going back to at least his great-great-great-grandfather were Mexican.
