Paternal grandmother was Harriett L. Gettman (the daughter of Adam Gettman/Gettmann and Katharine/Kathryn B. Geiger). Adam was German, and was the son of Casper Gettmann and Catherine Gronnewalt. Katharine was born in Ohio, to German parents, Fred Geiger and Katherine Guenther.

whether he likes it or not, Daugherty is an Irish name.
Maybe it’s an adoptive name. Is Dwight deffinitely his biological grandfather, or alternatively is Dwight the bio son of his parents.
We don’t know either way. If there’s adoption involved, it could just as well be his father who is adopted. Or maybe his grandmother had a Mexican lover…
His father was the only child, so if anything, I’d bet he’s the one who is adopted. His grandfather had many siblings and has both older and younger siblings, so I doubt he had no biological connection to his parents.

His paternal grandfather was Hubert Dwight Daugherty (the son of Charles Wilson Daugherty and Mary Null). Charles was the son of Robert Henry Daugherty and Elizabeth Ellen Gordy/Gorley/Gorby. Mary was the daughter of Hymas Ahimas Null and Rachel Ann McNeely.

I’m not so sure about the “I’m 0% Irish” statement. And from where does the Mexican come?
His father was born seven years before his grandparents married.
