I have always been pretty sure of my Welshness – it is something that really defines me… I’ve always felt a strong sense of Welsh identity, but it’s nice to have that confirmed. Generations and generations of my family, going right back, are all Welsh.
Alex’s ancestry can be traced to her ten-times great-grandfather, Edward Mainwaring, who was born, c. 1642, in St. Davids, Pembrockshire, Wales.
Alex’s paternal grandfather was named Denzil Jones (the grandson of Henry Hughes).
