Steven Strait is an American model, actor, and singer. He is known for his roles in the films Sky High, Undiscovered, The Covenant (2006), 10,000 BC, Stop-Loss, City Island, After (2012), and Life Like (2019), and on the shows Magic City and The Expanse.
Steven’s father is of English ancestry, and is from an upper-class “WASP” family that has lived in the U.S. since the 1600s, on many lines. Steven’s mother is of Italian descent.
Steven’s paternal grandfather was Burton Anderson Strait, Jr. (the son of Burton Anderson Strait and Dorothy Dyer). Steven’s grandfather Burton was born in Pennsylvania. Steven’s great-grandfather Burton was the son of Louis Burton Strait and Evelyn/Emma Anderson. Dorothy was the daughter of George Leland Dyer and Susan Hart Palmer.
Steven’s paternal grandmother was Rhoda Hills Booth (the daughter of Edward Townsend Booth and Gladys Peck). Rhoda was born in New Jersey. Edward was a prominent writer and sheep breeder, and was the son of Edward Hudson Booth and Rhoda Hawthorne Hills. He wrote the books God Made the Country and Country Life in America, both about country living. Gladys was the daughter of James Clarence Peck and Mary Stephenson Johnson.

Steven’s maternal grandfather was Anthony D. “Tony” Viscione (the son of Francesco/Frank Viscione and Rosa/Rose Adinolfi). Anthony was born in New York, to Italian parents. Francesco was from Roccabascerana, Campania, and was the son of Leopoldo Viscione and Filomena Franco. Rosa was from San Valentino Torio, Campania, and was the daughter of Luigi Adinolfi and Antonetta D’Ambrosio/D’Ambrosia.
Steven’s maternal grandmother was named Jean “Jennie” Errichiello (the daughter of Gaetano Errichiello and Lucy). Jean was born in New York, to Italian parents. Gaetano was the son of Pasquale Errichiello and Antoinette Ciaizza.

He does look like a typical Mestizo Mexican. There is no way he’s fully white, his mom is lying to him.
He looks exactly like what he is, i.e. the son of, let’s say, a Christopher Reeve-type WASP man and a Marisa Tomei-type Italian woman.
He could even pass for full WASP, like a Brandon Routh or Rupert Everett type.
Why is his mother lying to him just because she’s Italian? She has recent European immigration roots, if someone is Mestizo or a White person with Native American blood admixture, that one is his father whose WASP ancestors are in the USA since the 1600s.
Follers is correct, he could pass for a Rupert Everett English type. There are people in Western and Eastern Europe countries who are fully European and have dark features like him, and also Ashkenazi Jews who are that dark. He doesn’t look necessarily Mestizo.
And Hispanic means someone whose mothertongue is Spanish or someone whose ancestors were Spaniards. It’s not a synonymous of Mestizo or miscigenated individual with Spanish and Indigenous background. At least not exclusively. Today it’s also applied to the descendants of the Hispanic immigrants who can no longer speak Spanish but even if they are Mestizos with a high genetic percentage of Native they still have some Spanish in them, although there are Hispanics in Mexico and Central America who have full Native ancestry just like the full-blood Native Americans in the US who are anglophone.
Italy was occupied by different wave of groups, various peoples.
And many Italians in Northern Italy are blond or red, and Central Italians have fair skin just like most Southern Italians. There’s a huge misconception about Italians in the USA.
The British Islands are not Scandinavia. There’s no genetic difference among Irish and British, they are mostly R1B1, which means Western European. Those who during the Ice Age took refuge in the French-Cantabrian fringe and later recolonized Western Europe from Spain after the glaciers thawed.
