She is the daughter of Lynn Hutchings, an interior designer, and Douglas Palermo, a real estate developer. Her father has Italian, and possibly French, ancestry. Her mother may have English ancestry. She was raised on the Upper East Side, and in Greenwich, Connecticut.
Olivia is married to German model, photographer, and designer Johannes Huebl.
Olivia’s paternal grandfather was named Elvin D. Palermo (the son of Nicholas Matthew Palermo and Albina). Elvin was born in New Jersey. Nicholas was Italian. Albina was born in New Jersey, to an Italian-born father, and to a mother who is described as either Italian-born or French-born, depending on the census.
