Peter is the son of Nancy and Gerald Capaldi. He is married to actress and writer Elaine Collins, with whom he has a daughter.
He is a first cousin, twice removed, of singer and songwriter Lewis Capaldi. He is also a distant relative of nuclear physicist Joseph Capaldi and singer and drummer Jim Capaldi. Peter appeared in the music video for Lewis’ single “Someone You Loved.”
Peter’s paternal grandfather was Giovanni Battista/Batiste Capaldi (the son of Sabato/Sabatino Capaldi and Nicolina “Nelly” Faccenda).
