Ken Howard was an American actor. He was President of the Screen Actors Guild (SAG), from 2009 to 2012, and President of the Screen Actors Guild‐American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA), from 2012 to March 23, 2016.

Ken was the son of Martha Carey (McDonald) and Kenneth Joseph Howard, a stockbroker. His brother was actor and director Don Howard. He was married to stuntperson Linda Fetters Howard, until his death.

Ken’s paternal grandfather was James Henry Howard (the son of Charles Henry Howard and Frances Donahue). James was born in Louisiana. Charles was the son of Henry Howard, a prominent Irish-American architect, and of Caroline Richards.

Ken’s paternal grandmother was named Minna/Minnie/Mary Virginia Clarke. Minna was born in Illinois.

Ken’s maternal grandfather was named Cary/Carey McDonald. Cary was born in North Carolina.
