Anne Rice is an American author. She is known for her series of novels The Vampire Chronicles, and for writing gothic fiction, Christian literature, and erotica.

Anne is the daughter of Katherine (Allen) and Howard O’Brien. She was married to poet and artist Stan Rice, until his death, with whom she has two children.

Anne’s paternal grandparents were Michael John Joseph Samual O’Brien (son of Thomas O’Brien and Mary A. Duggan) and Bertha Agnes Curry (daughter of James Curry and Josephine Becker).

Anne’s maternal grandparents were Richard Allen (son of John Allen and Jane Hughes) and Alice O’Connell/Connell (daughter of Edward Connell and Mary Dwyer).
