i remember her from antm.
Didn’t like her at all
why does everyone keep saying jaslene gonzalez is the first latina to win idol when its actually yoanna, who cares if shes half mexican, halle berry was the first african american women to win best actress award for oscar, when she’s half white. and dont bring that ‘one drop theory’ crap up, thats just another away to put other races/ethnicities down.
infact, jaslene is actually the third, second being eva marcille, who is half-puerto rican
there has been more latin winners, like Naima Mora
so the first latinas to win have been
Yoanna House(mexican)
Eva Marcille(Puerto Rican)
Naima Mora(Mexican)
and last Jaslene(Puerto Rican)
mexican is a nationality! you’d be surprise. I have friends in Mexico who are as “white” as my dude (russian-german)
Yeh I cant really see the Mexican in her.
I can, her big eyes are very mexican and are very common among mexican girls in Mexico
her nose is very mexican among mexicans in Mexico
her full lips are very mexican and are common among native americans in Mexico.

not all latinas are black like puerto ricans and dominicans, mexicans are mestizos of white and native ancestry, mexico is not a black land like puerto rico and dominican republic
You should really look up the video documentary black in Latin America by PBS. It shows that there were black slaves in Mexico and how they became integrated into the culture and people. It also states that the second president of Mexico was half black. There is even a town that was founded by a black slave who freed himself and most of the inhabitants of that town are of African and Spanish decent. http://www.pbs.org/wnet/black-in-latin-america/
woulda never guessed.
