Guianese people are (ethnically) a mix of Black and East Indian. That would mean that EVEN IF Tyra’s father has “Guianese ancestry” (God knows how long ago in the lineage) it basically doesn’t mean anything. Tyra’s pretty much 100% black.

If one wants to analyse it seriously, one has to start with genetics only to find out that there is a CONTINUUM of genes and characteristics that can not be objectively and fully divided into groups or human populations. Not mentioning where would fit the “mixed” people who could have a genoma with combined groups of genes from far apart human “base” groups.

If one wants to have a more superficial (AND NON VALID!) approach considering only external morphological characteristics (skin colour, iris colour, type of hair, whatever…) the variations and separation criteria would vary from person to person who would make teh selection/separation, according to the degree of “sensibilty” to perceive differences…
For instance, if one would like to use the anthripological definitions at use in the late XIX century/begginings of the XX cent, one would find just four “varieties/races” based on external morphology: negroids; caucasoids; mongoloids and the austral-asian aboriginal branch. In the negroids would fit all “black” populations, from Africa to everywhere (but could be fitted here some asian populations too?); in the caucasoids wuld be everyone in Europe untill western asia (India-Pakistan, etc) and middle-East regions as well as North-Africans; Mongoloids would comprehend all asian and amerindian populations; and then the abroriginal populations on a different categorie.
So, either one puts a lot of different looking persons/groups in these mega-cathegories or, if one starts picking up, even just on extrenal features, one might end up with more groups of different african “black” populations than the rest of the other “varieties”!
Which is also logical because humans started in Africa and all the diversity rose and is mainly still there; and all the other “races” derived from a few individuals/populations from there.

I think here in Europe, or at least in Portugal, we don’t pay that much attention or give importance to one’s “race”/morphology… We don’t have any civil/official registration of ethicity or anything of the likes.
