Tanel Padar is an Estonian singer and songwriter. He won the Eurovision Song Contest 2001.

His sister is singer and actress Gerli Padar. He has two children with his fiancée Lauren Villmann.

Tanel’s paternal grandfather was Arnold Padar (the son of Rudolf/Rudolph Padar/Paddar and Alvine Jansen/Täll). Arnold was born in Gdov, Gdovsky District, Pskovskaya oblast, Russia. Rudolf was born in Meerapalu, Meeksi Parish, Tartu County, Estonia, the son of Adam Paddar and Marja Kirotan.
