Steve Cohen is an American politician. A member of the Democratic Party, he has served as a Member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Tennessee, since January 3, 2007. Steve is said to be Tennessee’s first Jewish congressman.

Steve is the son of Genevieve (Goldsand) and Morris David Cohen, a pediatrician. His grandfather owned a news stand.

Steve’s paternal grandfather was Jacob William Cohen (the son of Simon Cohen and Ida Bernstein). Jacob was born in Poland. Ida was the daughter of Leib Bernstein.
