Selena Gomez is an American singer, actress, producer, businessperson, and fashion designer. She is the daughter of Mandy Dawn (Cornett), a stage actress, and Ricardo Joel Gomez. Her father is of Mexican descent, with roots in Monterrey. Her mother was adopted by Debbie Jean (Gibson) and David Michael Cornett, and was raised in Texas. Selena has stated that, later in life, her mother found out that, by birth, she “has Italian roots.” It is not clear if her mother is of fully or partially Italian background; she has been referred to as both in press reports. Selena’s mother’s adoptive parents are mostly of British Isles descent. David was born in Texas, and is the son of Ernest William Cornett and Helen Elizabeth Spangler. Debbie is the daughter of J. C. Gibson and Lois Maybell Pierce.
Selena’s parents separated when she was five years old, and her mother later married Brian Teefy.
She was named after Tejano singer and actress Selena Quintanilla-Pérez. Selena has released a Spanish-language EP.
Selena’s paternal grandfather is named José Ricardo Gómez.
Selena’s paternal grandmother is named María Eugenia “Mary” Ramos.

Selena’s mother is adopted and she has stated that she is half Italian but not stated what other ancestry she is. Cornell is the adopted name so English ancestry can’t be inferred from that.

How come she never talks about her Italian side. She looks more Italian to me.
She looks Mexican and Italian. Probably because of the stereotype that once your part Latina or Black or whatever and White. The White doesn’t matter. Like a half Black/ White women will be looked at as Black and not as white, when she’s just as much White as she is Black.
Same case here Selena Gomez gave into the stereotype and only sees herself as a Mexican “Latina” girl. When she shouldn’t. But oh well. C: She’s very pretty none the less.
