Selena Gomez is an American singer, actress, producer, businessperson, and fashion designer. She is the daughter of Mandy Dawn (Cornett), a stage actress, and Ricardo Joel Gomez. Her father is of Mexican descent, with roots in Monterrey. Her mother was adopted by Debbie Jean (Gibson) and David Michael Cornett, and was raised in Texas. Selena has stated that, later in life, her mother found out that, by birth, she “has Italian roots.” It is not clear if her mother is of fully or partially Italian background; she has been referred to as both in press reports. Selena’s mother’s adoptive parents are mostly of British Isles descent. David was born in Texas, and is the son of Ernest William Cornett and Helen Elizabeth Spangler. Debbie is the daughter of J. C. Gibson and Lois Maybell Pierce.
Selena’s parents separated when she was five years old, and her mother later married Brian Teefy.
She was named after Tejano singer and actress Selena Quintanilla-Pérez. Selena has released a Spanish-language EP.
Selena’s paternal grandfather is named José Ricardo Gómez.

Looks Mexican and Italian to me, now her friend Demi L is both but looks way more Italian.
Demi actually looks more like most of the Mexican population, though. Olive skinned and brunette. If she went down to Mexico, nobody would even question that she was Mexican or not.

Oh, come on!! English or Latin or Hispanic or “American” aren’t races you fools! Those are heritages. Native American, European, African are general descriptions of races. This girl I presume she could have a mix of European and a bit of Native American.

You’re right! The first time I saw Selena Gomez and Eva Longoria, I was like “oh they are pretty white girls”. Then I found out they were Mexican, and I was like “oh, they must be Mexicans who are mostly of European descent”. 10% is basically not enough to consider yourelf a mestizo or indigenous. I think it’s dumb how Eva keeps on trying to hold on to that 17% or 13% indigenous. She should just let it go. Heck, there is that one Jewish dude who had like 37% indigenous in him, and he still just considers himself white.

You do know both Eva & George grew up thinking and living the Hispanic culture, right? If they knew they were white from the jump then chances are they’d probably wouldn’t bash on them. Everyone knows them as being Mexican so there is no use for them to state they are this and that everytime someone asks them what ethnicity they are.

Like I said, everyone knows them as being Mexican. It doesn’t matter what they say they are. Selena is known as Mexican and Italian. I’m pretty sure anyone who doesn’t come to this site thinks she’s only Mex&Italian. So..You’re Wrong(: Unlike us, they “research” someones ethnicity most of them just go with what they’ve heard.
