Sarah Wayne Callies is an American actress. She is known for her roles on the shows Prison Break, The Walking Dead, Colony, Council of Dads, and The Company You Keep, and in the films Whisper (2007), Blac Gold, Into the Storm, Pay the Ghost, The Other Side of the Door, and The Show (2017).

Sarah is the daughter of Valerie Wayne and David E. Callies, who are professors of English and Law, respectively. Sarah was raised mostly in Honolulu, Hawaii. She is married to Josh Winterhalt, with whom she has two children.

Her family’s surname was originally Kallies.

Sarah’s paternal grandfather was Gustav E. Callies (the son of Gustav John Callies and Anna/Ann “Annie” Weimer). Sarah’s grandfather Gustav was born in Illinois, to German parents. Sarah’s great-grandfather Gustav was the son of Heinrich Eduart Callies, from Pommern, Rhineland-Palatinate, and of Wilhelmine Bertha Oestreich, from Grevesmühlen, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Anna was the daughter of Christ Weimer and Julia Schulze/Schultz.

Sarah’s paternal grandmother was Ann Dolores Blazek (the daughter of Frank/Franciscus K. Blažek and Mary/Maria/Marie Sredl). Sarah’s grandmother Ann was born in Illinois, to Czech parents. Frank was the son of John Blazek and Katherine.

Sarah’s maternal grandfather was named Robert Wayne (born Ákos Klein, the son of Béla Klein and Fanny). Robert was a Hungarian Jewish immigrant.

Sarah’s maternal grandmother was named Eleanor Dale. Eleanor was of part German descent.
