Sarah Michelle Gellar is an American actress, producer, and cookbook author. She is known for starring as Buffy Summers on the television series Buffy the Vampire Slayer, as well as for her roles in the films I Know What You Did Last Summer, Scream 2, Cruel Intentions, Simply Irresistible, Harvard Man, Scooby-Doo, and its sequel, Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed; The Grudge, and its sequel; Southland Tales, The Return (2006), Suburban Girl, The Air I Breathe, Possession (2009), Veronika Decides to Die, Clerks III, and Do Revenge, and, in voice performance, Small Soldiers, Happily N’Ever After, TMNT, and The Illusionauts; on the shows Swans Crossing, All My Children, Ringer, The Crazy Ones, Wolf Pack, and, in voice role, Robot Chicken and Masters of the Universe: Revelation; and in the made-for-tv movie An Invasion of Privacy. She co-founded e-commerce startup Foodstirs, which sells baking kits.
Sarah is the daughter of Rosellen, a nursery school teacher, and Arthur Gellar, a garment worker. Her parents were/are both Jewish. Her father was of Russian Jewish descent. Her maternal grandparents were Hungarian Jewish immigrants. She was mostly raised on Manhattan’s Upper East Side.
Sarah is married to actor Freddie Prinze, Jr., with whom she has two children. She has also been known as Sarah Michelle Prinze.
Sarah’s paternal grandfather was Henry Gellar/Geller (the son of Leon Gellar/Geller and Sarah Levinson). Henry was born in New York, to Russian Jewish parents.
Sarah’s paternal grandmother was Beatrice Glaser (the daughter of Abraham Glaser and Sarah Volin/Wolinsky). Beatrice was born in New York, to Russian Jewish parents. Rosa was the daughter of Moshe Frishman/Frischmann, who was born in Sátoraljaújhely, Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén, and of Feiga Tolza Lefkovitz, who was born in Berczel, Szabolcs, Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg.
Sarah’s maternal grandmother was named Irene Schwartz (the daughter of Arnold “Hyman” Schwartz and Helen Johanna).

I wonder if her Hungarian Jewish grandparents were holocaust survivors or they were very lucky to be accepted as refugees before the outbreak of the war. There was strict immigration quotas during those times that were really prejudice towards Jews and other ethnic groups.
She does look Jewish.

Her last name is Gellar, which is normally Jewish. She’s the prettiest woman in Hollywood to me.
