Rosario Dawson is an American actress, producer, singer, comic book writer, and political activist.

Rosario’s mother, Isabel Celeste, is a writer and singer, and is of Puerto Rican and African-Cuban descent. Her mother has Taíno roots. Rosario was raised by her mother and stepfather, Greg Dawson, who gave her his surname; Greg is said to be of Irish and Native American ancestry.

Rosario’s biological father is named Patrick Harris. It does not appear to be publicly known what Patrick’s ancestry is.

Rosario has a daughter, who is adopted.

Rosario’s maternal grandmother was Isabel Quiñones (the daughter of Antonio Quiñones and Celestina Alvira y Torres). Isabel was born in Fajardo, Puerto Rico. Antonio was the son of Ceferino Quiñones and Francisca Quiñones y Rivera. Celestina was the daughter of Eusebio Alvira y Rivera and Teresa Rexach y Torres.

    Her bio father was probably a mgm African American or maybe part Afro-Latino too. I’d be very surprised if her bio father was say.. English descent. Her “black” mother looks mulatto.. Or in the very least tri racial with euro ancestry probably being the biggest part..

    Dawson is an anglo-saxon surname, but when it comes to names, they don’t mean much in the United States. Rosario is an attractive hybrid of humanity, though.

    Where I live most people would mistaken her for indian(theres not a lot of puerto ricans here)

      What type of Indian? Do you mean South Asian Indian or Native American? I loved her playing an Afghan Scythian Princess, but she could never pass as a Afghan or Punjab, maybe South India which make up the majority of South Asians in America.
