Robert Wise was an American filmmaker. He twice won the Academy Award for Best Director, for West Side Story (1961) and The Sound of Music (1965). His other films include The Set-Up, The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951), The Haunting (1963), The Andromeda Strain (1971), and Star Trek: The Motion Picture. He was also known for editing Citizen Kane.
Robert was the son of Olive and Earl Wise. He had a son with his former wife Patricia Doyle.
