Robbie Coltrane was a Scottish actor, comedian, and writer. His roles included the Harry Potter universe, as well as the films Mona Lisa, Henry V (1989), Nuns on the Run, The Brothers Bloom, Brave, Great Expectations (2012), Effie Gray, and GoldenEye, and television’s Alfresco, Tutti Frutti, Cracker, and National Treasure.

Robbie was the son of Jean, a teacher and pianist, and Ian Baxter McMillan, a general practitioner, who was a forensic police surgeon. His uncle was prominent businessperson Forbes Howie. He had two children with his former wife Rhona Gemmell.

Robbie’s paternal grandparents likely were Anthony McMillan and Janet Anderson Baxter.

Robbie’s maternal grandfather was Robert Wyllie Howie (the son of Thomas Wyllie Howie and Barbara Barclay Picken). Thomas W. Howie was a prominent businessperson and captain of industry. He was the son of Robert Howie and Bethia Jane Wylie/Wyllie. Barbara was the daughter of Alexander Picken and Martha Kerr.

Robbie’s maternal grandmother was named Anne Steuart Forbes (the daughter of William Forbes and Jane R.).
