Richie Ashburn was an American professional baseball player. He was a center fielder in Major League Baseball (MLB). He played most of his career for, and was inducted into the Hall of Fame as a member of, the Philadelphia Phillies. He was nicknamed “Putt-Putt,” “The Tilden Flash,” and “Whitey.”
Richie was the son of Genevieve (Warner) and Neil Maitland Ashburn.
