He is known for his roles in the films Bella (2006), Surfer, Dude; Pride and Glory, The Taking of Pelham 123 (2009), Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, Battle: Los Angeles, Need for Speed, Burn Your Maps, Megan Leavey, and The One and Only Ivan, and on the series Day Break, The Wire, Charlie’s Angels (2011), Gang Related, Iron Fist/The Defenders, The Affair, and Will Trent.

He was raised on the Lower East Side of Manhattan, New York.
