He is the son of Herminia de las Alas Lualhati and Herminio Martinez Alcasid, Sr. He is married to singer Regine Velasquez. He has two children, including singer and songwriter Leila Alcasid, with his former wife, Australian beauty queen Michelle van Eimeren; and a son with Regine.

Ogie’s paternal grandfather was Mateo Labot Alcasid (the son of Lorenzo Alcasid and María Carmen Labot).
