Leila Alcasid is a Filipino-Australian singer, songwriter, actress, and model.

Leila is the daughter of Filipino singer, songwriter, comedian, and actor Ogie Alcasid and Australian beauty queen and actress Michelle van Eimeren. Her stepmother is singer, songwriter, and actress Regine Velasquez.

Leila’s paternal grandfather is Herminio Martinez Alcasid, Sr. (the son of Mateo Labot Alcasid and Maria Cristina Marana Martinez). Mateo was the son of Lorenzo Alcasid and Maria Carmen Labot. Maria Cristina was the daughter of Catalino Martínez and Prima Marana.

Leila’s paternal grandmother is Herminia de las Alas Lualhati (the daughter of Jose M. Lualhati and Conchita de las Alas).

Leila’s maternal grandfather is Martinus Gerardus van Eimeren (the son of Martinus Johannes “Martin” van Eimeren and Cornelia Emerentia Klerks). Leila’s grandfather Martinus is a Dutch emigrant, from Amsterdam. Leila’s great-grandfather Martinus was the son of Johannes Hendrikus van Eimeren and Emerentia Elisabeth Monica “Emmy” Pel. Cornelia was the daughter of Bernardus Klerks and Geertje Biesheuvel, who was of part German and remote English descent.

Leila’s maternal grandmother is Lorraine Mary Byrne (the daughter of Claude Tarlinton John Byrne and Mary Margaret Cochrane). Lorraine is Australian, from Sydney, New South Wales. Claude was the son of James Tarlinton Byrne, who was of Irish, and English convict, descent, and of Mary Hilda Warren, whose father was from Newlyn, Cornwall, England, and whose mother was of Irish descent. Leila’s great-grandmother Mary Margaret was the daughter of James “Jim” Cochrane, who was of Scottish descent, and of Margaret “Marget” O’Donnall.
