Mohammed bin Salman has been Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, since 21 June, 2017, and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, since 27 September, 2022. He was previously Minister of Defense, from 23 January, 2015 to 27 September, 2022, Deputy Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, and Second Deputy Prime Minister, both, from 29 April, 2015 to 21 June, 2017, and First Deputy Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, from 21 June, 2017 to 27 September, 2022. He is also known as MBS.

He is the son of Fahda bint Falah bin Sultan bin Hithlain and Salman, who has been King of Saudi Arabia, since January 23, 2015, and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, from 23 January, 2015 to 27 September, 2022. He is the grandson of Ibn Saud, who was King of Saudi Arabia, from September 23, 1932 to November 9, 1953. 1953. Mohammed is married to Sara bint Mashoor bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, with whom he has five children. Sara’s father is his paternal half-uncle Mashour bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the son of Ibn Saud.

Mohammed’s patrilineal great-great-great-great-grandfather, Prince Abdullah bin Muhammad bin Saud Al Saud, was born in Diriyah, Sheikhdom of Diriyah, and is regarded as the founder of the First Saudi State.

Mohammed’s paternal grandfather was Ibn Saud (who was the King of Saudi Arabia, the son of Abdul Rahman bin Faisal Al Saud and Sarah/Sara bint Ahmed bin Muhammad bin Turki bin Suleiman Al Sudairi). Ibn Saud was born in Riyadh, Emirate of Nejd. Abdul was Emir of Nejd, from 1875 to 1876, and again, from 1889 to 1891. He was the son of Faisal bin Turki bin Abdullah Al Saud, who was Emir of Nejd, from 1834 to 1838, and again, from 1843 to 1865; and of Sarah bint Mishari bin Abdulrahman bin Hassan Al Saud. Mohammed’s great-grandmother Sarah was the daughter of Ahmed Al Kabir bin Mohammed/Muhammad bin Turki Al Sudairi and Hessa bint Muhanna bin Saleh Al Nuwairan.

Mohammed’s paternal grandmother was Hassa/Hussa bint Ahmed Al Sudairi (the daughter of Ahmed bin Muhammed Al Sudairi and Sharifa bint Ali bin Mohammed Al Suwaidi). Mohammed’s great-grandfather Ahmed was the son of Muhammed bin Ahmed Al Kabir Al Sudairi. Sharifa was the daughter of Ali bin Mohammed Al Suwaidi.

Mohammed’s maternal grandfather was Falah bin Sultan Al Hithlain al-Ajmi (the son of Sultan bin Hathleen al-Ajmi). Sultan was the son of Hathleen al-Ajmi.

Mohammed’s maternal grandmother was named Munira bint Abdullah.

One of Mohammed’s maternal great-grandfathers, Rakan bin Hithalayn, was the head of the Al Ajman tribe.
