Oddly, Miranda did not mention her one eighth Mexican ancestry. Miranda’s maternal grandfather’s mother, Mary Castimello/Costano/Coseton, was born in Mexico, as were Mary’s parents. The spelling of Mary’s surname varies from record to record.

A picture of Miranda with her mother can be seen here.

A picture of Miranda’s paternal grandmother can be seen here.

Miranda’s maternal grandfather was William Frank Casey (the son of William John Casey and Mary Cecilia Castimello/Costano/Coseton). Miranda’s grandfather William was born in California. Miranda’s great-grandfather William was Irish, born in Brosna, County Kerry. Miranda’s great-grandmother Mary was Mexican, born in Juárez, Chihuahua. A picture of Miranda’s maternal grandfather can be seen here.

Miranda’s maternal grandmother was Lois Ann Core (the daughter of Robert Herman Core and Ida Marie Bishir/Bishop). Lois was born in Oklahoma. Robert was the son of John W. Core and Birdie Harrell. I seriously thought this was going to say she is part Asian (PI, Chinese, Japanese, etc.)…it’s her eyes.! Then again, I’m not Asian & have super chinky eyes (especially in the morning! lol). Middle Eastern people can look Asian. My dad is half Syrian, but people think he’s Mexican or something else (his lastname doesn’t help)…smh.

i definately thought she was armenian just by the shape of her face and head and her eyes are 100 percent armenian alot of people here dont know what armnians even look like to be honest none of them are as tan as kim kardashian there skin is like an olive colour not too white or too tan, all armenians have simular eyes that is defintely asian looking and of course i dont think i have ever seen an armenian with blonde hair and blue eyes, they all have that dark complexsion, just like miranda and dont forget she is also irish welsh ect, you can pick up alot of diferent looks with that combination, im half irish half armenian, and i have skin as white as milk, that i picked up from my mam but my hair and eyess are very dark from my dad people never guess that im half armenian because of my white skin and freckles which i just happened togetxxx

Well im full blown Armenian…my dad is Persian Armenian (born in Iran but still 100% Armenian ) and my mom is Armenian Armenian (like from Armenia). An I’m pretty tan myself. im not olive skinned. im darker than that. not like a black person but more like middle eastern. not like a choco dark, no.. im kinda darker that Kim too. I used to hate having tan skin like this but now I love it ! my friends/family say that I even look indian lol. And I’ve even encountered some random strangers coming up to me and talking to me in spanish…and im like uhhhh im not mexican i dont speak spanish ! some people in my school i’ve met didnt know I was Armenian but then again a lot of other people did realize I was Armenian. i get creds for my exotic looks ;). LOL.
And I’ve definitely met/seen a whole bunch of really tan-skinned Armenians around. its normal. many are white, many are tan, many are dark. it depends on their genes. Where I live there are lots of Armenians residing here.. my dad is quite dark and my mom was rosey white (not pale). and i ended up having skin tone in between. …i got more of my dads side..but my 2 older brother are pretty white cause they got my mom’s side. ahahahaa, its pretty interesting. Oh I’ve also seen a lot of Armenians out there with blonde hair and blue eyes. there are a lot of them…my Armenian best friend in middle school was dirty blonde with blue eyes.(well think there was like 10% Russian in her which made her have blue eyes). actually, I’d see blonde haired Armenians a lot but I rarely ever see blue eyed Armenian…i think. its usually brown, but there is also hazel too! my first cousin have hazel eyes cause here mom and grandma (Armenian) had greenish eyes. people would never guess that we’re first cousins due to the fact that she totally white, dirty blonde, hazel eyes while im totally tan, brown eyes, dark brown hair lmao! she’s from my mom’s side. but people do say we kinda look alike cause of our facial structure.

oh and I doubt that all Armenians are asian looking…by asian do you mean like like oriental asian or filipino asian? or do you mean Caucasian(which is white)? A lot of us have big eyes round like kim (kinda like mine) and a lot of us have normal curved eyes.

i agree most Armenians look Caucasian or Middle Eastern/Mediterranean due to mixing, migration, and invasion thousands of years ago by different empires and rules. However, i have seen SOME armenians with very asian features and I’d say Russians are more likey to have stronger Asian features.

I always knew she was russian somehow. Maybe a little asian too. Some russians have the asian eye look. Don’t get me wrong that’s not why I thought she was russian. I was a bit surprise she was Armenian. I’m mexican. But to tell the truth I look more japanese asian because of my eye and face shape. Many of my family look filipinos. Many mistaken me for an asian. So my point is that Traits don’t always prove nationality. Unless I have a great grandparent that was asian, that explains a lot xD

I work with a majority of Mexican Americans and many of them have the features of Chinese or Japanese people.
If you look at the study of the migration of early humans, coupled with recent genetic science applied to heritiage they say that the Asian (Chinese, Eastern Russian (aka Mongolian), Japanese etc. all crossed over the “land bridge” which used to connect Eastern Russia with Alaska.
The asians then moved down to populate Alaska (who look the most asian) down into North America where they became the Native American (or Indigenous) Tribes, then down into Central Amercia (Mexicans) all the way down through South America.
So, all native Americans from Alaska to the southernmost point of Sounth America are of “Asian” descent.
The genetic i.e. facial characteristics of all Native Americans have been “enriched” by their Imperialist conquerors, the whites of Spain and the United Kingdom, as well as many Native North Americans with African Americans.
In otherwords, the genetic heritage of all Native Americans is so varied that their physical characteristics are vast and broad.
I have one friend who looks just like a Japanese WWII commander, then another who looks like a Chinese sumo wrestler, then another who looks Middle Eastern but all there of them are of Mexican American Descent.
I, myself, am often called condesndingly “euro-mud” because I’m Irish-English on dads side and Danish-Bavarian on my mothers side. Blue eyes, dirty blond hair, Norse (aka Viking) facial characteristics, and skin white as snow when not exposed to sun.
As for the beautiful Ms. Cosgrove, I’m very ignorant of how Armenians look (although I’ve learned a lot from these posts).
So I was suprised to find out she was not of Asian descent.
P.S. It is difficult to talk about race without sounding racist, but I do protest the use of the word “chink” or “chinky” that’s a bit like the “n-word”.
Sorry this messaqe is so long, hehe
