She is the daughter of Thyra/Tyra, a government tax inspector, and Gustav Wikström, a comptroller. She is married to private mediator and judge Charles Rubin.

Maud’s paternal grandfather was Johan Axel Vikström (the son of Johan Vikström and Maja Brita Sundström, or of Gustav Vikström and Anna Lovisa Johansdotter). Maud’s grandfather Johan was born in Alvik, Nederluleå församling, Norrbotten. Maja was the daughter of Emanuel Carlsson Sundström and Maja Lisa Persdotter.
