Mats Zuccarello is a Norwegian professional ice hockey player. A right winger, he plays for the Minnesota Wild of the National Hockey League (NHL). He was previously with Frisk Tigers, Modo Hockey, the New York Rangers, Metallurg Magnitogorsk, and the Dallas Stars, and the Norway national team.

Mats has said “My grandfather is Sicilian, from a little town between Messina and Palermo.” He was raised in the suburb Løren, Oslo. His step-brother is professional ice hockey player Robin Dahlstrøm.

Mats’ paternal grandfather was the son of Asbjørn Aasen and Ester B. Asbjørn was the son of Marinius Johnsen/Aasen and Andrine Johanne.

Mats’ paternal grandmother was the daughter of Frithjof Emil Andersen, Jr. and Astrid Marheim. Frithjof was the son of Fridtjof Emil Andersen and Anna Konstance Andersen Fjeld/Pettersen. Astrid was the daughter of Lærer Per Olsen Marheim and Julie Karoline Fogderud.

Mats’ maternal grandfather was surnamed Zuccarello.

Mats’ maternal grandmother was surnamed Svendsen.
