Marion Cotillard is a French actress, singer, songwriter, musician, and environmentalist. She won the Academy Award for Best Actress for La Vie en Rose (2007). She is also famous for her roles in the films My Sex Life… or How I Got Into an Argument, Taxi, Furia, Pretty Things, Big Fish, the musical Nine, Inception, and The Dark Knight Rises. She is a Greenpeace spokesperson.

Marion is the daughter of Niseema Theillaud (born Monique Theillaud), an actress and drama teacher, and Jean-Claude Cotillard, an actor, teacher, director, and mime. She has two children with her partner, actor Guillaume Canet.

Her father’s family is Breton, an ethnic group found in the region of Brittany, in France. Her mother’s family is French.

Marion’s mother has been described as having Kabyle, a Berber ethnic group from Algeria, ancestry. This is not accurate.

Marion’s paternal grandfather was Edouard Jean Cotillard (the son of Toussaint Cotillard and Jeanne Marie Allenic). Edouard was from La Musse, Laurenan, Cotes-d’Armor, Brittany. Toussaint was the son of Paul Cotillard and Anne Marie Le Loup. Marion’s great-grandmother Jeanne was the daughter of Mathurin Allenic and Perrine Marguerite Huguet.

Marion’s paternal grandmother was Léontine Marie-Louise Raulet (the daughter of Jean François Raulet and Marie Joseph Pencolé). Léontine was from Chaubuisson, Laurenan, Cotes-d’Armor, Brittany. Jean François was the son of Mathurin Raulet and Marie Françoise Caillibote. Marion’s great-grandmother Marie Joseph was the daughter of Joseph Pencolé and Jeanne Nicolas.

Marion’s maternal grandfather was Raymond Georges Albert Theillaud (the son of Jules Xavier Theillaud and Eugénie Madeleine Bandel). Raymond was born in Paris. Jules was the son of François Theillaud and Catherine Moreau. Eugénie was of German descent, and was the daughter of Pierre Maurice Bandel and Anne Marie Kaufmann.

Marion’s maternal grandmother was Simone Fournier (the daughter of Georges Auguste Fournier and Léonie Augustine Tellier). Georges was the son of Isidore Alexandre Fournier and Sophie Léonie Paris. Marion’s great-grandmother Léonie was the daughter of Henri Tellier and Charlotte Rousselot.

    No, lol. In the winter it gets really cold and rains a lot, but in the summer it’s nice. Today was 14 degrees, which to us, is warm.

    Anyway i’m soo proud to see Marion Cotillard in american movies, and winning the academy award !!!! I love her since her film “taxi”, at least ten years ago !!!!! She’s a very good actress !!!

    yeah lol i think that Paris must be great for holidays, but living there … pfffff luckily i live in the suburbs, but when i go to college in downtown i’m just glad to go home, 15 minutes away from this town lol !!!!!
    i prefer the south, people are more friendly over there !!!
    the famous joke about parisians is “j’aime rien je suis parisien!!”
    translation “i love nothing, i’m a parisian”, and it’s completely true !!!
    i see paris everyday, and i never visited the eiffel tower !!! You think it’s weird ??? trust me the majority of parisians have not visited the eiffel tower (yet) lol
    anyway just like you paul, i feel like home in paris hahahaaa
