A forward, he played for Modena, Empoli, Fiorenzuola, Lodigiani, Treviso, Vicenza, Brescia, Palermo, Fiorentina, Bayern Munich, Roma, Bayern Munich II, Genoa, Juventus, Al Nasr, and Verona, and the Italy national team. He was a member of the Italy national team when it won the 2006 FIFA World Cup. He is 6′4″.
Luca is the son of Valeria and Gianfranco Toni. He is married to Italian model Marta Cecchetto, with whom he has had three children.
