Kendrick Sampson is an American actor. His roles include the series The Vampire Diaries, Gracepoint, How to Get Away with Murder, The Flash, and Insecure.

Kendrick is the son of Daphne and Hoyle Sampson. His father is black and his mother is white. Among his brothers is musician Quinton Sampson. A picture of Kendrick with his mother can be seen here.

Kendrick’s maternal grandfather was Mervin Tarval Smith (the son of Douglas Alexander Smith and Minnie Frances Aucoin). Mervin was born in Texas. Douglas was born in Louisiana, the son of Francis Thomas “Frank” Smith, whose parents were from Denmark and Norway, respectively, and of Charlotte Frances Wright. Minnie was born in Louisiana, the daughter of Adam Olesiphore/Oriziphore Aucoin/Aucoine and Fannie/Fanny Amelia Keller.

Kendrick’s maternal grandmother was Gladys Jane Darnall (the daughter of Leslie Anthony Darnall and Maggie Inez Williams). Gladys was born in Texas. Leslie was born in Louisiana, the son of John Kaigler Darnall and Barbara Eisele, who was of German descent. Maggie was born in Texas, the daughter of Charles Henderson Williams and Jennie Sarah Jane Moore.
